Curdridge

A significant extension to a Regency house to form additional living accommodation and a cloistered link to a converted coach house. The link in particular forms a boundary between the public and private realm thereby creating an enclosed private south facing garden. The roof is formed in lead and cantilevers over a continuous band of clerestorey glazing that allows it to 'float'. The detailed elements are highly articulated as a contrast to the conceptual simplicity of the scheme. extensive use is made of Douglas Fir to provide visual warmth. Painted brickwork both internally and externally links the new to the existing.
