Southwick Manor

This Grade II Listed Manor Farm house near Trowbridge, was originally built in 1675. We were asked to consider a contemporary extension, offering an enlarged kitchen and dining area, with an improved connection to the surrounding private garden.

It was essential that the proposal was sympathetic to the existing manor, in terms of size, layout, scale and appearance. A clear legibility between old and new is created through carefully selected materials, such as the standing seam copper roof.

The extension is to a high environmental standard. A large sky light and glazed sliding door bring natural light into the space, whilst allowing the interior to open out into the surrounding garden.
