A modest extension and full renovation to a mid-terrace Edwardian House in the outskirts of Bath. Adapting the existing for modern lifestyle while providing greater connection to the garden and city beyond.
The property was renovated to a high environmental standard to improve significantly the thermal performance of the existing building. This included adding internal wall insulation, upgrading existing sash windows to triple glazed, and creating acoustic separation to party walls. There is also a rainwater harvesting system that feeds the toilets, washing machine and garden tap.
The project was designed be small in scale whilst adding significant benefits to our clients. Our proposal involved adding a single storey ground floor extension to improve the connection with the outside and provide a dedicated dining space. In addition to this, a roof extension with a terrace captures the breathtaking views across the city.
